Musicians, administrative staff also fully vaccinated

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Symphony Orchestra is implementing COVID-19 safety protocols that will require all members of the public 12 years and older to be fully vaccinated or have proof of a negative test taken within 72 hours if the Lancaster County Hazard Number is orange. Currently, Lancaster County’s COVID-19 risk dial is medium orange.

All musicians on stage (including conductors and guest artists) will be fully vaccinated, as will the entire administrative team. Staff members will wear masks at all times while assisting members of the public in the concert hall.

Additionally, LSO will be implementing an “Enhanced Seat Security Zone” to accommodate customers who have concerns about their personal risk level. This option is available to any ticket holder.

“Over the past 18 months, our musicians have overwhelmingly demonstrated their commitment to their art form, this orchestra and this community,” said Barbara Zach Lee, Executive Director of LSO. “They participated in conversations about the innovations we undertook during the pandemic, and they were instrumental in conversations about what safety precautions to take in the future.”

Other protocols based on Lancaster County’s COVID-19 risk dial include:

• Green: LSO welcomes spectators in a regular seating configuration and encourages mask wear.
• Yellow: LSO greets members of the public in a standard seating configuration on the ground floor and requires each member of the public aged 12 and over to provide proof of vaccination or proof of a negative test taken during the 72 hours prior, before being admitted to the room. Spectators are encouraged to wear masks.
• Orange: LSO requires each spectator aged 12 and over to provide proof of vaccination or proof of a negative test taken within the previous 72 hours, before being admitted to the venue. The regular seating configuration on the ground floor will be used and each guest (regardless of age) is required to wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth at all times while in the concert hall.
• Red: Dates and times will not change, but concerts will be offered live instead of an in-person event.
