The young dancer from Kirkby ready to shine in a new ballet at the Royal Theater

Eila Van Ham has been selected to join English Youth Ballet (EYB) in their performance of Sleeping Beauty, which will be performed at Nottingham’s Theater Royal on July 22-23.
Eila will perform alongside 70 other local girls, having been selected from hundreds in a competitive video audition earlier this year.
She will perform alongside international professional dancers and will have had the chance to experience the life of a professional ballerina during rehearsals.
The 12-year-old, who trains at the Christine March School of Dance, said she was delighted to take part in such a prestigious production.
This will be Eila’s second time performing with the EYB, having performed on Cinderella in Hollywood in 2018.
She said: ‘I started dancing when I was three because my sister was at the dance and I was always watching so I pestered my mum to let me go and she let me go. left.
“I enjoy the feeling of pride after finishing a show on stage. I like the adrenaline rush before I continue.
“I’m excited to repeat with EYB, when I did it in 2018, I loved it so much.
“I like how the teachers are professional with the younger kids and how we interact with the principals.
“I love all types of dance. I do dance at my school and recently made the elite team, which I find really fun.
