The Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra will present a repertoire of fiery and jazzy music from around the world for the “Dracula, Porgy And Bass” concert at Prince Mahidol Hall, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus, on Fridays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 4 p.m. .

The evening show will open with the premiere of a dynamic new work by renowned Thai composer Narong Prangcharoen, followed by haunting romantic music by Wojciech Kilar Mina and Dracula from Bram Stoker Dracula.

The exciting program will continue with Michele Mangani Concerto for bass which will showcase the range and dynamism of the bass clarinet played by the TPO’s own bass clarinetist Grzegorz Grzeszczyk, who has been considered one of the few representatives of the young generation of bass clarinetists in Europe.

Then, that of Aaron Copland El Salon Mexico will capture the energy of Mexican folk music in a piece that pays homage to the colorful and legendary dance hall of the same name. Finally, enjoy a rousing series of melodious hits from George Gershwin’s folk opera Porgy and Besspresented in a moving orchestral medley.
