A suspended lecturer at Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Zoe Solomon Tamunotonye, ​​has turned to the commercial bus driver, following the institution’s refusal to pay him a salary for the past six month.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Tamunotonye was seen waving passengers onto a commercial bus along Ikwerre Road in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.

The lecturer was suspended by Polytechnic management following a report by an expert panel that he sexually harassed a student at the institution and detained her at the Sani police station Abacha Road in Port Harcourt.

He reportedly turned around to accuse the student of embezzling the sum of 250,000 naira he gave her for her personal belongings and keeping the key to her office and other property.

The student was later released by the Sani Abacha Road Police Station, following the intervention of the Commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday, who, after listening to the parties involved, realized that the allegation of the conference lacked substance.

Recall that École Polytechnique had in March 2022 released a statement that Tamunotonye had been found guilty of the student’s misconduct and harassment allegation.

The statement, which was signed by Registrar Chris Woke, gave him until May 31, 2022 to write a letter of apology to the institution and also commit in writing to good conduct.

The speaker, however, said he would not apologize because, in his opinion, he had not committed any offense requiring an apology.
