Stone ballet stars will dance with the English Youth Ballet this summer
Three budding ballerinas trained at Stone’s Rooftop Studios have successfully auditioned for English Youth Ballet.
Molly Philpott, 11, Isabella Buckley, 10, and Maria Kelly, 9, wowed in a competitive audition and will now join a cast of professional dancers in a sold-out production of Swan Lake at the Regent Theater in September.
The process will provide the girls with a unique insight into life in a professional ballet company; an exciting opportunity to navigate the journey of the journey from acceptance to auditioning, classes, challenging choreography, challenging rehearsals and enjoyable theater performances; reflecting exactly what a dancer experiences in a professional company.
Studio Director Laura Keeling said: “These girls all work exceptionally hard every week and show incredible dedication and passion in all of their classes.
“Congratulations girls, the hard work has paid off. We are all so proud of you and can’t wait to see you perform on this big stage!
“We would also like to say a big thank you to ballet teacher Miss Verity for preparing the girls so well before their audition and for the ongoing support and inspiration she provides to all of our students.”
Rooftop Studios is Stone’s only RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) ballet school; train students in the RAD program and provide the opportunity to climb the ladder with classes for toddlers taking their first steps in dance to those taking their upper grades and learning repertoire for professional-level auditions.
Ballet classes for adults are also offered at the studio, including the ever-popular RAD Silver Swans for the over 55s.
