San Anselmo ballet school sets up transition – Marin Independent Journal
Wilhelmina Frankfurt, a former New York City Ballet dancer, has been hired as co-artistic director of the Stapleton School of Performing Arts in San Anselmo.
Frankfurt is set to succeed Virginia Stapleton, founder and artistic director of the school, who plans to retire in June. Frankfurt will become the school’s second artistic director in 33 years of existence.
Frankfurt was artistic director of the Catskill Ballet Theater, artistic advisor to Ulster Ballet Co., co-director of Woodstock Children’s Theater, and director of dance and musical theater for the South Bronx Charter School for International Cultures and the Arts.
Jennifer Gately has announced that she will be stepping down as Executive Director of the Bolinas Museum after nearly 10 years.
Gately has been responsible for overseeing over 15 exhibitions per year, raising funds and expanding the scope of the museum. The museum staff and board are looking for a new CEO.
Vivalon, the San Rafael-based nonprofit formerly known as Whistlestop, recently announced the election of Beth Reizman as chair of the board. Reizman has been a member of the board of directors for six years.
Dennis Ryan, president for seven years, will remain on the board. Stan Moore was named vice-president and Cynthia Wuthmann secretary.
