A couple of talented young dancers from Prima Stage School at Larkfield Leisure Center in Aylesford, Kent celebrate after successfully auditioning for the prestigious Royal Ballet School.
Alan and Bailey, both 10, have been offered places in the Royal Ballet School’s Junior Associates programme, which gives them the opportunity to train at the Royal Ballet School in Covent Garden on Saturdays .
The boys, who both train in various dance styles at Prima Stage School, have only been dancing for a short time but showed a lot of promise and dedication from their first ballet lesson. They join Inaya, another Prima student, who has already been in the Associates Program for a year.
Congratulations also to seven-year-old Matilda, who was offered a spot on their waitlist and in the online program, and nine-year-old Lila, who was offered a spot on their short waitlist and in the program online.
Alan, Bailey and Lila also take part in the Prima Associates programme, which takes place at the Larkfield Leisure Center and offers further training and the opportunity to meet other young dancers. Isida, another Prima Associates student, has also been offered a place on the short waiting list for the Royal Ballet Junior Associates programme.
Prima Stage School Principal Julie Hutchings said: “It’s a great
success for the students and for the school. I am so proud of their dedication and hard work to achieve their dreams. Of the six kids who auditioned, two were offered places and three have places on the online program. It’s a fantastic first step towards an exciting future in ballet and dance.
