The Opéra National de Bordeaux has announced its rich 2021-22 season. For the purposes of this article, we’ll only focus on vocal performances.

Opera
A semi-staged version of “Meyerbeer”Robert Le DiableâOpens the season. The opera stars Erin Morley, Nicolas Courjal, Amina Edris, Nicolas Darmanin, Joel Allison, Paco Garcia and John Osborn in the title role. Marc Minkowski is directing a production by Luc Birraux.

A double bill from Poulenc ‘âThe Human Voice“And d’Escaich”Organ pointWill present soprano Anne Catherine Gillet, baritone Jean Sébastien Bou and tenor Cyrille Dubois. Domingo Hindoyan directs a production by Olivier Py.
The opera is a co-production with the Théâtre des Champs Elysées, the Dijon Opera, the Saint-Etienne Opera and the Tours Opera.

Michèle Losier plays Charlotte, Lionel Lhote plays Albert, Florie Valiquette sings Sophie and Benjamin Bernheim plays the title role of “Massenet”Werther. “Pierre Dumoussaud is directing a production by Romain Gilbert.

“by DonizettiThe Elisir of loveWill have two castings, with Golda Schultz and Catherine Trottmann alternately in the role of Adina, and Kévin Amiel and Yu Shao alternately in the role of Nemorino. David Bizic and Dominic Sedgwick perform Belcore, while Giorgio Caoduro and Julien Véronèse perform Dulcamara. Nil Venditti directs a production by Adriano Sinivia.

Florian Sempey and Thomas Dolié sing Count Almaviva, and Ana Maria Labin plays Countess Almaviva in Ivan Alexander’s production of Mozart’s opera masterpiece.The Marriage of Figaro. “Angela Brower and Megan Marino play Susanna, while Robert Gleadow plays the title role. The cast will be completed by Miriam Albano, Paco Garcia, Ariana Venditelli, Manon Lamaison and Norman Patzke. Marc Minkowski directs.
