Qatar Philharmonic to kick off season with “one-of-a-kind” concert – Doha News

Those fully vaccinated will now be able to enjoy Qatar’s best orchestra live.
The Qatar Philharmonic is expected to stage a one-of-a-kind concert “with an exceptionally festive program” that should deliver a breathtaking experience, the world-renowned group said.
After a long Covid-19 hiatus, QPO will be back on stage on September 18 at the Qatar National Convention Center, providing fans with an unforgettable experience featuring legendary composers from around the world.

Participants must be fully immunized or present a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the event to be admitted to the concert (these guidelines apply to children).

Music fans wishing to attend the concert must be fully vaccinated or present a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the event to ensure entry into the venue, including children.
The concert will take place between 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., with the opening performance featuring romantic classical music composers such as Tchaikovsky, Grieg and Khachaturian.
Among the expected pieces are “Piotr Ilich Tchaikovsky: Eugene Onegin – Polonaise”, an opera in three acts composed in 1878, in addition to “Music of the Nutcracker, Op. 71 – March, Chinese, Spanish and Russian dance (Trepak) », One of the acts arranged by the artists for a concert in 1892.
The Nutcracker, ETA Hoffman’s tale before it became a ballet, tells the story of Clara, a little girl “who receives a magical nutcracker in the shape of a little man for Christmas”.

“Tchaikovsky based the ballet he created on a translation of the original story by Alexandre Dumas.”
French violinist Lyonel Schmit will be the show’s first violin and conductor, providing the audience with a spectacular evening of music.
