Prodigy Gold (PRX) has appointed Mark Edwards as Managing Director.

Effective May 1, Mr. Edwards will succeed Brett Smith, who had held the position since December, following the resignation of Matt Briggs in October 2021.

Mr. Edwards is a geologist with over 25 years experience as a mine manager and geologist responsible for defining and replacing resources and reserves on gold projects in the Northern Territory, Western Australia and Botswana. .

He previously held positions at Otter Gold Mines, Sons of Gwalia, IAM Gold and Kirkland Lake Gold.

Mr. Edwards worked at the Tanami gold mine and the Pine Creek projects in the Northwest Territories.

The new general manager will receive a salary of $325,000 before retirement and a
discretionary performance bonus of up to $25,000 per year.

He will also receive a signing benefit of two million unlisted PRX options.

The company said Mr. Smith would retain an interim management position until Mr. Edwards takes over and a transfer of duties is completed. He will then resume a non-executive director role.

PRX shares were trading 8% higher at 2.7 cents at 3:16 p.m. AEDT.
