An unfortunate Pokémon card collector told the story of his collection stolen by a childhood neighbor, and how he still hasn’t recovered.

With the recent boom in popularity of Pokemon cards, losing rare childhood cards could pique any fan with regret. For an unfortunate Pokemon card collector, however, it wasn’t bad luck or recklessness that cost them a chance to cash in on their childhood collectibles. Instead, it was theft and duplicity that left them seething years later.

Pokemon cards have seen a revival in popularity lately, thanks in large part to online content creators who have turned to openness Pokemon card packs in large companies. As a result, many fans are scrambling to dust off their long forgotten. Pokemon card collections, which may now be more valuable than they were years ago. In reality, Pokemon cards have become so valuable that they have become a prime target for scalpers. Stores would see their shelves of Pokemon the cards were erased as soon as they were stored, and The Pokémon Company and Wizards of the Coast had to take the drastic step of limiting the number of cards a person can buy at a time. But one fan lost their existing collection of Pokemon cards and turned to TikTok to express their frustration.

Posted on TikTok by user HummusVaccum (and reported by Dexerto ), the song is a cover of the song “Welcome to the Black Parade” by My Chemical Romance. HummusVaccum tells the story of its Pokemon collection of cards stolen by his childhood neighbor. Among the stolen cards was a first edition, a Lugia holographic card. HummusVaccum claims that such a card would be worth over $ 10,000 on the market today. HummusVaccum also says there were other valuable cards among the collection that were stolen. As a result, in the chorus, HummusVaccum has a few choice words for the neighbor, Shawn, and wishes him ill will, including stepping on a million LEGOs and having his eyes gouged out by the Pokemon Spearow.

While the song is largely cathartic, and HummusVaccum likely won’t pick up those cards, the anger is still evident throughout the song. Lose so rare Pokemon the cards would sting for anyone, but HummusVaccum clearly hasn’t forgotten this injustice. The fact that he can remember the exact cards that were stolen and that he has such specific wishes for Shawn is proof of that.

That Shawn managed to cash in these rare Pokemon cards or throws without knowing their value is unknown. There is no doubt that this collection would have fetched a solid price and many scalpers and Pokemon fans would be envious of these rare cards. For now, HummusVaccum will just have to continue.
