Can I apply if I was a bus driver before or part of the PYEI program?
Former beneficiaries of the Youth Brigade and PYEI programs can apply but priority will be given to candidates who have not yet benefited from the program. We try to give as many young people as possible the opportunity to earn money and gain experience.
What are the duties of a bus driver?
The primary responsibility of bus drivers is to ensure the safety and security of learners during transportation from home to school and back.
· Manage queues at pick-up points
Ensure buses are clean when picking up learners
Provide reports on any non-compliance issues
Must also observe condition of buses, tires, discs and any safety related issues and report to monitor or manager
Is this opportunity only in Gauteng?
Yes, this opportunity is only for people living in Gauteng.
How much will bus drivers be paid?
A stipend of R3500 will be paid monthly via the school to which you are assigned.
All payment and contract inquiries should be directed to your school and the assigned principal/manager or manager.
What is the age limit?
18 – 34 years old, but opportunities for those over 35 are limited, schools offering these opportunities will advertise them in schools and applicants should inquire about the application process at those specific schools.
Can I submit my CV to a school near my home?
No, only candidates who apply on sayouth.mobi or tshepo.datafree.co will be considered.
