Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra, the Cape Town Professional Collaborative Orchestra, will present its 2021-22 Season Four Opening Show, OPEN CCCO: Season Kickoff & Serenade, on Sunday, August 29, 3 p.m., Pilgrim Congregational Church , 533 Rt. 28, Harwich Harbor. The orchestra is conducted by founding musical director Matthew Scinto.

As part of CCCO’s first live performance in over 18 months, OPEN CCCO: Season Kickoff & Serenade launches its new format, combining performance, audience interaction and a behind-the-scenes look at an orchestral rehearsal. Conductor Scinto and the string sections take audiences on an adventure through Dvořák’s “String Serenade”, exploring the composer’s American connections and the elements that make this work one of the most beloved pieces for string orchestra. Sponsored by Joseph Carr Wine, all ticket holders will be entered to win a basket of premium cheeses and wines. CCCO prides itself on exceptional programming and collaborative performances, a highlight of each season.

“I’m excited to kick off our season with a new series we’re launching. OPEN CCCO is meant to be an opportunity for audience members to ask questions, directly participate in the music experience and learn why we are so moved. Classical music listeners often don’t have the ability to communicate directly with the performers, so we’re trying to change that, ”Scinto shares.

Committed to artistic integrity and excellence, the mission of the Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra is to connect the diverse artistic communities and individuals of Cape Cod in an inclusive manner. By collaborating with other artistic and cultural disciplines, the Orchestra aims to create unique concert experiences while providing exciting, enriching and memorable orchestral music. Highlighting living composers is at the forefront of the orchestra’s mission; bring the public closer to modern-day music, positioned as an essential and educational element of each show program. Other repertoires emphasize the defense of works by living composers, as well as the music of the classical canon.

Tickets for season four are available at capecodchamberorchestra.org, by calling 508-432-1668, or at each hall door by cash or credit card.
